They didn’t have circle cards…

S: Hello, if you’re reading this, I need you to come back December 1, 2013. lonestarjr2.net will officially launch then.

A: Please know that lonestarjr2.net is my first attempt to tell a story to the world. Until now I haven’t had much I want to say to the world. Where to start? Do I “start in the middle and work my way to both sides” like Elizabeth Gilbert’s sweet Retta? Safaris are my 360-word tales about my journey in the Lone Star State. Four years ago, I moved to the Lone Star State from the Last Best Place. From the most beautiful place on Earth to the least. I literally thought my life was going to end. But it only began.

F: So, you can start reading about it December 1. Why did I choose December 1? No real reason, it seemed auspicious. 12/1/13.

A: You also might be wondering what the SAFARI lettering is all about. Well, it’s a way to keep my brain organized, of course. I figured if I consistently started, affirmed, had some fun, adjusted, reiterated and finally indulged a little, you’d know exactly what to expect while reading my stories. But do you?

R: Ever since I moved here all by myself, I learned you never know what can, or will, happen. How even though I thought I knew everything, everything always came full circle. I realized how little I knew, or if things were indeed circular, I was relearning everything I once knew that I somehow no longer knew. Either way, it’s been an incredible journey and a personal reminder of how, as Michael Pollan quotes, “everything just eventually morphs into the way the world is”. And since I was born in Houston, it seemed even more fitting that I began my story here. So I guess I am starting where I began, or maybe where I left off…

I: I can’t say I hope you find the Full Circle Blog or my Safaris good. I’m not even asking you to read them. I do hope, however, that there is a part of you that can understand and say hello. So with that, friends, I say goodbye for now.
